Our History

We started out as a small….

Terri Nishimura is an occupational therapist and one of the founding directors of Pediatric Therapy Network. She was a voluntary clinical faculty member for USC’s Dept. of Occupational Therapy & Occupational Science. As a Los Angeles County Commissioner on the Policy Roundtable for Childcare, Ms. Nishimura was instrumental in establishing a guide for child care centers to create a system for the identification and inclusion of children with special needs. These strategies will be included in the Steps to Excellence Program (STEP), an innovative new child care rating system that the County of Los Angeles is launching in the near future. She is also very active in the business community as the founder of the Nonprofit Coalition section of the Torrance Area Chamber of Commerce. She was recently recognized for our long-standing commitment to the community through the Torrance Chamber of Commerce. She was awarded the 2011 Los Angeles County Woman of the Year!
Rosalinda is a parent of a former PTN client and was a member of PTN’s Hearts and Hands Committee, and later became a member of PTN’s Community Advisory Board serving for 2 years. She is a successful businesswoman starting her own company over a decade ago. Rosalinda currently serves as the chairperson of the Parent Advisory Board for the Southwest SELPA. For the past two years, she served on Redondo Beach Unified School District’s Strategic Planning Committee. She is also the current Financial Secretary for PTSA. She volunteers for Redondo Sunset Little League and the VIP program (Special Needs League) for AYSO Region 34.
Tom relocated to Southern California from Western NY in the mid 80’s. He has enjoyed a successful career in the for-profit sector, serving as CFO in the manufacturing and distribution, recording artist management, advertising sectors, among others. He holds a BBA in Accounting from Saint Bonaventure University, an MBA from University of Southern California and is a Certified Public Accountant.
