“Everyone at Camp Escapades was so positive and nonjudgmental of the kids. The acceptance and love were palpable! I believe these kiddos feel a lot of judgment from people that just don’t know or understand their behavior and extra needs. They are not trying to be unkind. It’s just that our kids are ‘being assessed’ constantly. Whereas when we walked into Camp Escapades, we almost felt like a celebrity. Everyone was happy to see us, happy to be there, excited with unconditional love in their hearts. The environment, the school and activities were wonderful, but without that very special love and support that was everywhere, the rest would have not mattered. It was one of the most genuine experiences we have had since we started on our journey with Autism Spectrum Disorder. It gives me hope for a brighter, more aware community for our kids as they get older."
